VOLUNTEER HOUSTON Corporate Services

Although numerous local businesses promote a spirit of volunteerism within their organizations, many do not realize the commitment of time and financial resources required to do so effectively. VOLUNTEER HOUSTON announces the recent creation of its Corporate Services program, which offers consulting services designed to help local businesses enhance community involvement strategies. VOLUNTEER HOUSTON has initiated Corporate Services to assist corporations in sourcing local volunteer opportunities that are of interest to their employees by combining employee input with community involvement experience and expertise. Companies already utilizing Corporate Services include HEB, Marathon Oil, and Waste Management.

Services include, but are not limited to:

• Heightening visibility and recognition for individuals, as well as the corporation
  
• Intranet and website content development
  
• Providing qualified personnel to conduct employee information group sessions
  
• Guidance in selection of appropriate volunteer and sponsorship opportunities
  
• Offer information on working with non-profit organizations
  
• Assistance with the development of corporate special events
  
• Personal telephone referral service during business hours
  
• Information and access to various volunteer training opportunities

The main goals of Corporate Services are to review existing programs, research the administrative tools that can enhance these programs and develop collaborations for volunteer events. This program offers flexibility so that corporations may select the components in areas of community relations where they need support.
